Introduction: Labor crisis and high stress for women and all stages of the second stage of labor, especially physically, emotionally and psychologically very difficult process for women, A non-drug method in comparison with the pharmaceutical side effects on the mother and fetus and is affordable, is using the exercise with birth ball during labor. This study aimed to investigate the effects of using birth ball on maternal and neonatal outcomes was performed.. Methods: In this clinical trial, 100 women 45-18 years abdomen first and second, admitted to Fatemiyeh hospital in 2015 were selected randomly in two groups of 50 tests and controls. Two groups in the duration of labor, the need for oxytocin, Apgar score after the delivery, birth weight, were compared. Results: The mean duration of labor was significantly lower in the intervention group than the control group(p< 0.05). The need for oxytocin, Apgar scores and birth weight, mode of delivery was not significantly different between the two groups. Conclusion: Performing the exercise with birth ball during labor, can lead to loss during the active phase of labor, reducing maternal anxiety and stress, but harmful consequences on the Apgar score and birth weight did not change, so it can be used as a non-drug treatment and low effect to reduce labor pain relief used during labor and delivery.
