عنوان انگلیسی The Predictive Model of Elderly Psychological Well-Being Based on Personality with the Mediation of Self-Care, Spiritual Experiences and Death Anxiety
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Background: The aim of this paper is to investigate the relationship between personality-based psychological well-being variables with mediation of self-care, spiritual experiences, and death anxiety. Materials and Methods: In addition, this study was conducted on the age range of the elderly. The research population included all elderly individuals who were kept public and private centers in Tehran during 2017-18. In order to conduct this research, 300 elderly people (76 males, 224 females) were selected by the systematic stratified random sampling method. This research is correlational one. In this study, multiple regression, path analysis and structural equation modeling) were used in order to evaluate the measured variables in conceptually designed model. In the proposed model of this research, the dependent variable (psychological well-being) was defined as the endogenous variable and the independent variable (personality and social support) was considered as the exogenous variable. Also, the variables of self-care, spiritual experiences, and death anxiety were regarded as the mediating variables in this proposed model. The instruments of this study were as the following: Reef Psychological Well-being Inventory, Daily Spiritual Experiences Scale of Underwood and Teresi (2002), Neo Five-factor Personality Traits Inventory. Results: The results showed that personality variables (five-factor) predict psychological well-being. Personality variables both directly and indirectly have a significant relationship with psychological well-being through spirituality and death anxiety. Conclusion: It can be concluded that personality variables both directly and indirectly have a significant relationship with psychological well-being through spirituality and death anxiety.
